The City of Escalon is excited to announce the launch of their Poet Laureate Program! We are now looking for our inaugural Poet Laureate. You must be 18 years old and a resident of the Escalon Unified School District. Our Poet Laureate will help establish the program to inspire local residents, especially the youth, to develop a life-long appreciation of literature; to remind the community about the impjortance of literature and poetry; and to build the city's capacity and advocacy for reading and literary arts.
