The Recreation Commission consists of three members, appointed by the City Council, and are seated for three year terms of office. The  Commission serves as an advisory board to the Recreation Department. The Recreation Department offers activities to youths and adults throughout the year.

The Recreation Commission convenes regular meetings at 5:30pm on the first Wednesday of February, May, August and November at the Escalon City Council Chambers at 2060 McHenry Avenue.
